Georgia GOAL Scholarships at The Mosaic Field School
The Mosaic Field School is proud to participate in the Georgia GOAL Scholarship Program.
Georgia GOAL makes it possible for Georgia taxpayers to direct a portion of their state income-tax liability toward need-based scholarships for children attending participating independent schools, including The Mosaic Field School. For families, that can mean a more attainable path to the Montessori education, individualized guidance, hands-on learning, and connected community their child deserves.
Whether you are a family seeking tuition assistance or a Georgia taxpayer looking to invest in student opportunity, Georgia GOAL helps transform tax dollars into meaningful educational access.
Make Montessori More Accessible
For Families:
Apply for a GOAL Scholarship
A Montessori education may be closer than you think.
Georgia GOAL Scholarships are need-based awards that can help qualifying families offset tuition at The Mosaic Field School. Scholarships are funded by contributions from Georgia taxpayers who choose to redirect eligible state income-tax dollars through the Georgia GOAL program.
If The Mosaic Field School feels like the right learning environment for your child, we encourage you to apply for admission and begin a conversation with us about scholarship availability.
How the scholarship process works
1. Apply to The Mosaic Field School
Begin by completing our admissions process. A student must be accepted or qualify for acceptance to be considered for a Georgia GOAL Scholarship.
2. Complete the school’s financial-aid and GOAL application
Families seeking assistance will complete The Mosaic Field School’s scholarship and/or financial-aid application process. We will guide you through the information and documentation needed to evaluate financial need and student eligibility.
Georgia GOAL Scholarships are awarded based on demonstrated financial need, using guidelines that consider household size and adjusted gross income.
3. The school reviews your application
The Mosaic Field School’s scholarship committee reviews applications with care, discretion, and attention to each family’s circumstances. Our goal is to steward available scholarship resources responsibly while helping as many mission-aligned students as possible access a Mosaic education.
4. The school submits eligible recommendations to Georgia GOAL
Georgia GOAL does not accept scholarship applications directly from parents. Instead, participating schools review applicants and submit scholarship recommendations to GOAL for consideration and approval, including documentation of student eligibility and financial need.
5. Receive your scholarship decision
If awarded, your GOAL Scholarship is applied toward tuition at The Mosaic Field School. Scholarship amounts vary based on demonstrated financial need, student eligibility, and the funds available in the school’s GOAL scholarship account.
The Mosaic Field School determines the amount it recommends for each family, and Georgia GOAL reviews the recommendation for approval.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
Eligibility is governed by Georgia law and Georgia GOAL program rules. In general, a student must be a Georgia resident and meet the program’s enrollment or school-entry requirements.
Students may qualify if they:
Are currently enrolled in a Georgia public primary or secondary school and have attended for the required period before receiving a scholarship.
Are eligible to enroll in a qualified Pre-K4, kindergarten, or first-grade program.
Meet other applicable legal and program eligibility requirements.
Because eligibility depends on the student’s circumstances and current law, please contact us before assuming qualification. We are happy to help your family understand the next steps. Georgia GOAL notes that awards are based on financial need, and that participating schools submit the student recommendations rather than families applying directly to GOAL.
Ultimately, the application committee at The Mosaic Field School is able to award scholarships to appliants.
-
A Georgia GOAL Scholarship is not guaranteed simply because a family applies.
Awards depend on eligibility, documented financial need, available scholarship funds, and GOAL approval.
Scholarship funds are limited, so we encourage interested families to begin the admissions and financial-aid process as early as possible.
A student may not receive both a Georgia GOAL Scholarship and a Georgia Promise Scholarship at the same time.
Receiving a scholarship does not replace the school’s admissions process; applicants must still be a good fit for The Mosaic Field School community and meet admissions requirements.

Turn Your Georgia Tax Dollars Into Student Opportunity
As a Georgia taxpayer, you may be able to receive a dollar-for-dollar Georgia income-tax credit by contributing through the Georgia GOAL Scholarship Program and designating The Mosaic Field School.
Rather than sending all eligible state income-tax dollars to the general fund, you can redirect an approved portion toward need-based scholarships for Mosaic students. Your contribution helps more children experience a thoughtful, hands-on, developmentally responsive Montessori education—while allowing you to claim a Georgia tax credit for the approved amount.
Georgia GOAL is an approved Student Scholarship Organization, and Georgia taxpayers may contribute to GOAL and claim a dollar-for-dollar state tax credit, subject to approval and applicable limits.
The process is simple
1. Apply for your Georgia GOAL tax credit
Complete the Georgia GOAL tax-credit application online and designate The Mosaic Field School as the school you wish to support.
You are requesting approval to redirect an eligible portion of your Georgia state income-tax liability to scholarships—not simply making a traditional charitable gift.
2. Receive approval from the Georgia Department of Revenue
GOAL submits applications to the Georgia Department of Revenue for approval. State tax credits are limited and allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, so early participation matters. Georgia’s statewide Qualified Education Expense tax-credit cap is $120 million per tax year.
3. Make your contribution within the required timeframe
Once your tax credit is approved, make your contribution to Georgia GOAL by the deadline provided—generally within 60 days of approval. GOAL will provide payment instructions and deadline reminders.
4. Claim your Georgia tax credit
After making your approved contribution, GOAL provides the documentation needed to claim the credit when you file your Georgia income-tax return. The contribution is applied toward scholarships designated for The Mosaic Field School.
In practical terms, you are pre-paying a portion of state income taxes you already owe and directing it toward scholarships for Mosaic students, subject to the program rules and your approved credit amount.

It is a contribution to Georgia GOAL that may qualify for a dollar-for-dollar Georgia income-tax credit after state approval. For many participants, the program functions as a way to pre-pay taxes they already owe while directing the approved amount toward student scholarships. Individual tax outcomes can vary, so donors should consult a qualified tax adviser.
-
The program provides a Georgia state income-tax credit for the approved and contributed amount; it is not a cash refund from The Mosaic Field School. The credit is claimed on your Georgia tax return, subject to your tax liability and the applicable rules. Unused credits may be eligible for carryforward under current Georgia rules.
-
Georgia law requires taxpayer pre-approval through the Georgia Tax Center before the credit can be claimed. Because statewide credits are limited and awarded first come, first served, applying early is important.
-
After approval, contributors generally have 60 days to make their payment to Georgia GOAL. Follow the payment deadline in your approval notification.
