Excursion Partners:
Our Classroom Without Walls
At The Mosaic Field School, our students don't just learn in a classroom; they learn by exploring the world. Our students in The Mosaic Adolescent Community (TMAC) embark on 4-6 long-term excursions each year, traveling for 7-10 days at a time. These trips are not just field trips—they are intensive, real-world learning experiences.
Our excursion partners are a vital part of this program. They are the experts, the guides, and the communities that open their doors to our students, providing:
Deepened Learning: Our partners provide specialized programming and expertise that immerses students in a subject. For example, a trip focused on marine biology might involve working directly with oceanographers, or a historical trip might include hands-on archaeological work.
Real-World Application: Students apply their classroom knowledge to solve real-world problems. Whether it's a citizen science project with an environmental organization or a community service initiative, they see how their contributions make a difference.
Mentorship and Skill-Building: Students connect with professionals and mentors in a variety of fields, gaining technical skills and invaluable insights that can shape their future paths.
Personal Growth: These long-term trips challenge students to step outside their comfort zones. They develop independence, resilience, and a deeper sense of community as they work together and navigate new environments.
Through these partnerships, our students build a diverse and rich "mosaic" of experiences, expanding their worldview and preparing them for a life of purpose and contribution.
